FAQ & Guidance

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our electrical service.

How much does an electrician cost?

Electrical work is priced on the job, including fault finding, parts, access to the wiring and the time needed. New circuits or larger installations are priced on the agreed scope.

What should I do if my electrics keep tripping?

Try to work out what triggers it, such as a particular appliance or circuit, and unplug that appliance. If the trip switch won't reset or you notice burning smells or scorch marks, leave it switched off and send a high-urgency request.

Does my electrical work need to be certified?

In England and Wales, some electrical work in homes, such as new circuits or work in bathrooms, is notifiable under Part P of the Building Regulations. It must be carried out by an electrician registered with a competent person scheme or approved through building control. Ask us how your work will be certified when you request a quote.

Can you add sockets or lights?

Yes. Extra sockets, lights or outdoor fittings can be quoted on their own or as part of a renovation. Tell us where you want them and the type of fitting.
